Commonly Encountered Issues as a Couple

A La Verne, California resident, Timothy Kovacs graduated from California State University, obtaining a BA and MA in psychology. He currently serves as the assistant director of the Baldwin Park Unified School District Early Childhood Education. Timothy Kovacs is a marriage family therapist who helps children and parents.

Marriage family therapists serve as moderators in a family or marriage and enable all persons involved to hear the other person’s side of the story and the problem to fix it. One of the most commonly encountered issues in a family or marriage is communication. Lack of communication can cause many problems in a relationship, and people may grow distant because of it. One of the reasons why this happens is because they feel like they are being misunderstood and, in this way, stop communicating whatsoever and start avoiding the other person. Communication problems can also include constant arguing, bickering, or blaming.

Another common issue in a marriage or with a couple is emotional distance. One of the essential needs of a person is an emotional need. Typically, the partners involved can provide comfort and love to the other in a relationship. When this is no longer possible, an emotional distance has been created. As a result, the partner feels less intimate with the other and trusts them less. Couples can solve this problem by going to the therapist and receiving emotionally focused therapy, in which they can learn about the other person’s needs and how to meet them.

Tourist Attractions in CA - Rubel Castle

Timothy Kovacs is a California-based marriage and family therapist with two decades of clinical experience. As the adjunct faculty at Azusa Pacific University, Timothy Kovacs instructs master's level psychology courses such as clinical consultation and clinical practice. In his free time, he enjoys traveling.

One of the major tourist attractions and cultural centers in California is the Rubel Castle. Located at 314 N. Glendora Avenue, The Rubel castle is an architectural site established by Micheal Rubel in 1947. Created entirely by hand by Rubel and his "pharmhands," Rubel castle features stone masonry made from river rock and recycled items, all of which were constructed over several decades. It also features several artifacts significant to Glendora's agriculture and industrial eras.

Micheal Rubel created a courtyard, drawbridge, clock tower, dungeons using concrete, stone, and recycled items such as bicycle and motorcycle parts. The property also features the Santa Fe caboose, bottle house, and the Tin Palace museum. Rubel Castle is open year-round. However, the association that manages the property, the Glendora Historical Society, requires that all tours be booked by appointment.
